Heatin' Up in the Second District

There are less than three months to go until voters go to the polls to select their representative for Supervisor in the Second District.  We are remaining neutral on the subject of candidates but feel the need to comment on the two campaigns.

Here is the check list:

PRESENCE ON MAIN STREET FORTUNA:  Estelle yes; Clif no

BILLBOARD: Estelle yes; Clif no
FACEBOOK/SOCIAL MEDIA: Estelle yes; Clif no
BIG FUNDRAISERS: Estelle 2; Clif 1
FUNDRAISER HELD IN 2nd DISTRICT WITH SIGNAGE
THAT EVERYONE SEES: Estelle 1; Clif 0

Our advice:

Clif: We know you are busy doing your job as Supervisor, but there are five months out of the four years that campaigning IS YOUR JOB. Get out there and campaign!  We know you are walking the neighborhoods but Estelle started months ago.  You are behind. Being a one-term incumbent isn't enough.

Remember, there is a moratorium on placement of signage in the City of Fortuna before the election campaign period. Perhaps that is why Clif's presence isn't as profound within the city limits as Estelle's. If there wasn't a moratorium on campaign signs we'd all be suffering from Pharyngeal Reflex everytime we drive through town. There are parts of Eureka I won't even drive through because of the onslaught of signs during an election year.

Clif has done a good job.

Replace him with a lobbyist? Nah.
