Oh No He Di'ent

We just finished watching a rerun of the Fortuna City Council meeting from June 18.  First of all, we LOVE Fortuna, we know it's a great community and roll our eyes when unfounded criticisms are lodged against Fortuna by the northern section of our county.  However, after listening to a certain Councilperson from their self-appointed bully pulpit, we can understand why anyone only hearing that person speak would think we live in the backwater.

Often, we just shake our heads at his cringe-worthy and crass statements, but this session made us both yell at the television. While we know homeless/houselessness is a serious issue and needs to be diligently addressed, the comment  "feed the rats and they'll keep coming back" was more than a tad over the top. But it didn't stop there.  Moments later, after this representative of the city acknowledged Duane Rigge for his service as City Manager, he followed it with "but we have a blonde cutie replacing him."  The tenured civic servant, Loretta Nickolaus, deserves better than this sexist ignorant remark.

Good luck, Loretta...you have your hands full.

It is a long term pattern for the buffoon! Take a look at his April 23, 2012 comments on the Humboldt Mirror blog site regarding Earth Day.

I'm waiting for Dean Glaser to call a boycott on the rodeo for having a sign on the fence at Strong's Creek Plaza. Oh, wait...he's busy leading a police insurgence against some 7th grade boys playing basketball in Campton Heights.

It is interesting to note that the City had noticed Dean Glaser about him running a comercial enterprise in a residential area and for blocking the public right-of-way just before he sponsored the great "Basketball Hoop" caper.

The sign on the fence is another good example... take on the Rodeo Board, you bet!
