Olympic Hangover

Kate up late watching the Olympics
Kate:  I love the Summer Olympics.  I love watching swimming, gymnastics, volleyball, rowing and the track & field events.  I love the back stories and stupid interviews--I sniff and cry just when they want me to. It gives me hope in America.  I rush home after work and late meetings so I can spend as much time as possible watching them--and watching them LATE.  I wake up tired every morning...and I slog through the day willing the clock to signal the end of obligations so I can run home and turn on the Olympics again.

Spence:  I even dressed in my sexiest badminton uniform to distract her...but, to no avail.  Sigh......

You two are disgustingly normal. I couldn't care less about the Olympics, or any other sports.

Disgusting, yes. Normal...far from it. Ha!

Sure, we have been depicting our lives here on Above The Fold as pretty normal with posts on gardening, home decorating and Fortuna town events, but that is just a diversion away from the........Oh, Hey, is that Olympic Eye-Candy swimmer Ryan Lochte over there! Kate thinks he is a dreamboat.

Just wait until we blog about going to the fair and our summer vacation to the Grand Canyon!

I totally enjoyed the opening ceremony. It almost brought a tear to my eye that the free world still has enough resources to put on a production like that. The whole stadium and part of the surrounding area was a choreographed light show. The history that they depicted was interesting to me. I especially liked the grassy hillside with the sheep trails. The hill looked like a southern Humboldt hillside back in the sheep days. I was emotionally stirred, not shaken.
